It is almost exactly two years since the German Shuffleboard Association (GSA) hosted the Shuffleboard Team World Championships in Hohenroda. The tournament was a successful event in every respect as many participants from all over the world have confirmed time and time again.
This was reason enough for some members of the Organizing Committee to hold a "Reunion" at that special place.
Additionally to the stay in the „HessenHotelparkHohenroda“ families Runge, Schwarten and Hußmann took a very special trip to the „ErlebnisbergwerkMerkers“, a salt and crystal mine close to the hotel.
In 2010 the mine could not be visited due to the high number of attendants to the Championships in Germany. This was now made up in a more intimate circle.
To sum up the visit: it was worth it, the mine was more than interesting and offered some exciting impressions..
One of the many highlights of the weekend was, as some may imagine, the food. Who would not remember the "Light Lunch", served during the games?
On their way home the families stopped to take an extended walk through the town of Fulda with its famous cathedral and picturesque timber-framed houses.
Congratulations

Congratulations to Canada "East" for winning both the men's and women's divisions of the 31st International Shuffleboard Association Team Championships. Placing 2nd & 3rd in the ladies division were Japan 1 & Japan 2.
In the men's division, 2nd went to USA "East" and 3rd place went to the UN Youth team.
Thanks to Jim Allen, a 20 years old Shuffleboard video is now public:
In the early 90's Bob Zalatel from Arizona, also known as "Shufflboard Bob" made an instructional Shuffleboard video for the ISA.
Since the rules did not change, it's a good start for all who want's to know more about Shuffleboard.
