The Game Plan

The most important thing about SpeedShuffleboard is your individual game plan.

No matter if you are breaking ties in an international tournament or if you are part of a team playing in the World Shuffleboard League (WSL), you are lost without such a strategy.

Remember: Shuffleboard is a game of probabilities, and so is SpeedShuffleboard.

 Preparation

One of the most common mistakes I have witnessed is the time and efforts people invest in their preparation for a round of SpeedShuffleboard in the World Shuffleboard League (WSL).

Some enter the courts, shoot eight discs (or even less) and start to play.
Some enter the courts, play full rounds of practice until they achieve a satisfactory or maybe even brilliant result and then start to play.

Well, there have been a few players using those methods who managed to finish with good results, but they are definitely exceptions to the rule.
In most cases they fail.
The reasons are as simple as they are evident.

I recently observed players shooting their first World League scores and it occurred to me that there is strategy involved that will help new players get a good start.

I have learned to shoot all shots from the center of the court for consistent drift on both sides of the court. I start by shooting all four discs on the right side of the court, I shoot black first but the point is you should shoot all of the same color...
